Other Training Resources

The Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) provides free training for DDS providers in Massachusetts. There are also many other training resources on topics related to employment and disability. As you look for training opportunities for you or your staff, consider whether they are comprehensive and competency-based. Competency-based trainings focus on helping people learn specific skills they need to do their jobs or tasks well.

Some courses touch on employment, but don't go deep enough into the topic. For example, the College of Direct Support is an effective online training option for people working in direct support roles, but their employment training offerings are limited. To meet the need for a more comprehensive training, the producers of the College of Direct Support launched the College of Employment Services. This suite of courses provides competency-based online training for those working in the field of employment services.
